What the role does.
General Responsibilities
- Assist in recruiting and retaining 2 Race Managers
- Research races in the Denver metro area and surrounding communities and create the Team Hoyt Denver race calendar.
- Create Race Coordination Standard Operating Procedures and train Race Managers
- Work with Race Managers to divide up the race calendar so each person is responsible for coordinating 4 races
- Serve as a Race Manager for a minimum of 4 races annually
- Develop strong working relationships with local race directors
- Represent THD professionally with race organizations and community partners
Race Manager Responsibilities for assigned races
- Follow the Race Coordination Standard Operating Procedures for all assigned races
- Contact the director of the running race to begin discussions about: race course, parking and accessibility, registration, bib pick up, etc.
- Create the race in the THD portal and populate all relevant information
- Send a broadcast email to THD members when a race is ready in the portal for registration
- Build the race roster assigning runners, riders and chairs
- Work with the Volunteer Relations Manager to ensure adequate volunteer coverage
- Monitor registration and logistics
- Make adjustments to pairings when cancellations or no-shows arise
- Serve as the primary operational leader for Team Hoyt Denver on race day
- Monitor weather, course conditions and other factors that could affect athlete safety and modify or cancel participation when conditions create an unacceptable safety risk
- Document and report any race day incidents or safety concerns to the President
