Team Hoyt Denver's mission is to champion inclusion in running races and empower athletes of all abilities through the joy of racing, teamwork and the shared thrill of crossing the finish line.
What the role does.
Social Media Specialist Responsibilities
- Work with the Marketing Director to develop Team Hoyt Denver’s social media strategy and to build and maintain a social media calendar covering races, events, fundraising campaigns and awareness dates
- Create and publish posts, stories and short-form video across Team Hoyt Denver’s channels — Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Strava — keeping a consistent posting cadence year-round, not just during race season
- Capture photos and video at races and events, or coordinate with the team photographer and volunteers to source them, and file everything in Team Hoyt Denver’s central photo and video repository
- Follow Team Hoyt Denver’s brand guidelines, and confirm that a media release is on file before publishing any athlete’s name, photo or video, with particular care for minors
- Monitor comments and direct messages, respond in the team’s voice, and route questions about riding, running, volunteering, sponsoring or donating to the right director
- Promote race registration deadlines, volunteer needs, fundraising campaigns and non-race events in coordination with the Race Director, Volunteer Relations Manager, Fundraising and Sponsorship Director and Event Director
- Ensure sponsors receive the social media recognition promised in their sponsorship agreements, and tag partners, race organizers and the national Team Hoyt organization where appropriate
- Track follower growth, engagement and reach, and report results and what they suggest to the Marketing Director on a quarterly basis
- Keep account access, admin permissions and credentials current and documented with the Marketing Director and IT Director, so no channel depends on one person’s phone
- Attend a minimum of 4 Team Hoyt Denver races per year
